April 1: Lacrosse, Family Movies And Karaoke
Pick your choice of entertainment on Friday nights, movies or a karaoke to a favorite song.
Once you're done with classes and business meetings, there are plenty of events happening in Hauppauge on Friday night. Patch has a few suggestions of local places to go out and unwind.
1. The Hauppauge varsity girls lacrosse team will travel to take on Islip at 4 p.m. Take a trip to nearby Islip High School to cheer on the Eagles.
2. Bring your family to Hauppauge Public Library's Family Movie Night from 7 p.m. - 8:35 p.m. A newly released movie will be shown and children must be accompanied by an adult. Feel free to bring your own snacks.
3. Sing to your heart's content at the Grafton Street Pub's Karaoke Night from 7 p.m. - 11 p.m. There's no cover charge, but food and drinks are available for purchase.
4. New York State passed its annual budget, which determines state aid for public schools. Hauppauge Patch will have an article his afternoon about how the approved state budget affects Hauppauge Public Schools' proposed 2011-2012 budget and tax levy.
5. Do you have an opinion on a local issue? Write an Op-Ed for Hauppauge Patch. Share your opinion, of 500 words or less, by emailing it to editor Sara Walsh at sara-megan.walsh@patch.com.
