Hauppauge Woman Arrested for Multiple Car Break-ins

Suffolk County Police said Mary Patricia Elliott broke into multiple cars from July 14 to Sept. 26.

Suffolk County Police have arrested a Hauppauge woman in connection with a string of local car break-ins from July 14 to Sept. 19.

Mary Patricia Elliott, 47, pled not guilty to two felony charges of fourth-degree grand larceny for using stolen credit cards and four misdemeanor charges of petty larceny in Central Islip Courts on Oct. 8.

Police said Elliott broke into multiple cars at Boomers Family Fun Entertainment Center in Medford on July 14, taking valuables from multiple cars between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. Items reported stolen included credit cards, an XM radio, sunglasses and cash, according to police reports.

Next, Elliott allegedly broke into a parked car outside on Sept. 18 at approximately 1 p.m., according to police reports. The vehicle's owner reported cash and personal items were taken.

Cops said Elliott  continued her spree by breaking several cars parked along Hollywood Drive in Smithtown on Sept. 19. between 4:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. She also broke into a car on Hoffman Lane in Hauppauge on Sept. 26, taking sunglasses, cash and an XM radio, according to police reports.

Elliott has been released on $5,000 bond. Her lawyer Ira Weissman, of Central Islip, said he had no comment on the case as it is pending before the courts.
