Question: Do You Support a Smoking Ban on LIRR Platforms?

A bill that would prohibit smokers from lighting up while waiting for the train awaits Gov. Cuomo's signature.

A bill that proposes to ban smoking on the LIRR platforms is awaiting Gov. Cuomo's signature to be made into law, after being supported by the New York State legislature. 

The bill is designed to protect commuters from the side effects of secondhand smoke. Lighting up a cigarette is already prohibited inside bars and restaurants under New York State Law.

New York City and New Jersey already have similar restrictions in place.
