5th in the Nation for Hauppauge Varsity Cheer

The Hauppauge varsity cheerleaders took 5th place at the UCA National HS cheerleading Championship this past weekend In Orlando Florida. 

With 2 returning girls who competed on that stage last year, the eagles worked hard in their off season to get back to nationals! In prelims , they were .5 away from advancing straight go finals.  After the semi- finals round, the eagles were the top team In their division, and they advanced to the Finals! This is the third time in four years since The school started attending this competition. 

The finals was Sunday at 6:30 pm The girls practiced that morning at the hotel, and then waited to go compete. That was the hardest part of the day, not letting the girls sit in the sun! But they were determined. They received a perfect score In their cheer and had one of their best performances besides dropping 2 stunts. Even with that, their scores were high enough to take the 5th place stop ! Their division - small varsity -1 was the biggest division of the competition , with 75 teams, then going against 22 in finals. Which is in heard of.  Top 5 it was for the eagles!  So very proud of this new team and all they accomplished this year!
