Hauppauge Students Compete in Annual NYS DECA Conference

Hauppauge High School competed in the annual New York State DECA Career Conference in Rochester from March 4 through 7. Brian Logan, Quick Serve Restaurant Management; Erin Stitt, Full Service Restaurant Management; and Josh Linden, Business Services Marketing, placed in the top 10 statewide in their respective categories.

In total, 12 Hauppauge students competed in various categories designed to analyze situations or problems encountered by business professionals and to react to these problems by providing recommendations or solutions using creative marketing and management skills in a role play setting. They also attended informative leadership workshops about "Dressing for Success" and "Ethics in Business."

DECA has impacted the lives of more than ten million students, educators, school administrators and business professionals since it was founded in 1946. DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe.
