LI Ducks Visit Pines Elementary

Hauppauge School District’s Pines Elementary School hosted a visit from the Long Island Ducks Team Manager Kevin Baez, Team Mascot Quacker Jack and TD Bank representatives Eric Fishon and Kevin Mileti to recognize Pines 3rd grade student Yashmita Logaraj who won the annual Take a Duck to Class Essay Contest.

Logaraj read her winning essay to the 3rd through 5th grade students in which she described the love that she has for her community, which helps keep her safe, healthy and entertained. The annual contest is sponsored by TD Bank, whose representatives presented Logaraj with gifts for her winning essay. To the delight of the children, the Ducks team manager and Quacker Jack took over entertaining and answering questions from the Pines students. Baez and Quacker Jack also spent one-on-one time and played Whiffle Ball with Logaraj and her 3rd grade classmates.
