10 Places To Buy A Christmas Tree

Whether you want a fresh tree or a fake tree, there are many local places to choose from to help you ring in the holidays with the perfect Christmas tree for you and your family. Here's 10 places to buy your Christmas tree near Hauppauge:

1.  Pool Fection Winter Wonderland
Normally a retailer of  pool supplies, Pool Fection, on Route 111 across from Chase Bank in Hauppauge, has embraced the Christmas spirit and is selling fresh Christmas trees and wreaths.  They also sell fake trees and an assortment of ornaments, decorations and stockings.

2.  Olsen's Discount Nurseries
A family run business since 1962, Olsen's usual home is on Lake Avenue in Nesconset. However, for the holidays, the company is selling fresh Christmas trees at 773A  Route 347 in Nesconset next door to Taco Bell. All Balsam and Fraser firs are priced at $45. The wreaths are $22, crosses are $30 and blankets are $35. There's many options to choose from.

3.  BB & GG Farms and Nurseries
This family-owned business is located on Route 25A in St. James. It sell Douglas, Fraser and Balsam firs ranging from $30 for a 3- to 4-foot tree and up. In addition, they sell wreaths starting at $10 and roping at  $9.99  for 10 feet,  $25.99 for 25 feet.

4.  Hitherbrook Nursery and Florist
This nursery is selling two kinds of trees. Their Balsam range from $30 - $50 at tree and their Fraser firs range from $48 - $90. They sell both decorated wreaths $18 at 10 inches and $260 for 72 inches, and undecorated wreaths ranging starting at  $8.99. They have a few options for roping from the most common White Pine and Boxwood to Oregon mixed to the more expensive Princess Pine. Garlands are sold in 25-yard rolls or by the foot.

5.  Walmart 
The Islandia location of this retail chain sells an array of fresh and fake Christmas trees that range from $12.88 for 32 inches to $375  for a 7.5-foot Jersey fir. Many can be purchased pre-lit.  Walmart has a wide variety of ornaments and tree skirts, lights and tree toppers. They also have outdoor décor like lighted spiral tree sculptures and reindeer, etc for sale.

Residents can now purchase a live Christmas tree online. Walmart is featuring fresh-cut Fraser fir trees. Purchase it online and have the tree delivered to your house. The cost is $57.64 plus shipping (includes a tree nutrient). The nearest Walmart is located on Veterans Highway in Islandia. 

 This store has an array of trees: $15 to $20 ranging from 2-3 feet for small spaces, $39.99 for trees 6 - 8 feet, $59.99 for trees over 8 feet. Jim Nursery's sells are 12-inch wreaths for $15.99 and the 24-inch wreathes for $25.99. Garland roping comes in a 75-foot roll for $22.99.

  This store carries a very wide variety of pre-lit Christmas Trees. With so many to chose from, ranging from about $75 to $3,000 you are sure to find something in your taste and price range. They carry a variety of ornaments with indoor and outdoor décor. Sears also sell some novelty items that have a special meaning for many of us, like The Peanuts Charlie Brown Christmas Tree for $11.24.

8.  Fortunoff Backyard Store
This store has a multitude of products including: over 30 life-like trees in variety of shapes and sizes, wreaths and garland, outdoor décor, interior and exterior lights as well as collectibles including Department 56, Lenox, Christopher Radko and Annalee dolls. It's located at 1995 Route 437 in Lake Grove.

9.  Bed, Bath & Beyond
Located in Lake Grove's Smith Haven Mas Plaza, Bed, Bath & Beyond sells a 6-foot tall, pre-lit tree for $49.99.  There are an array of wreaths and ornaments in the store's Christmas section, convenientlyin the front of the store. Bed, Bath & Beyond also owns The Christmas Tree Shop Inc. chain. The nearest one is in The Deer Park Tanger Outlet. It's a store where Christmas happens 365 days a year.

10.  Lewin Farms
Cut your own Christmas trees at  812 Sound Avenue in Wading River. Cutting down your own Christmas tree can be a family experience that creates lasting holiday memories. Lewins' offers free wagon rides through the fields of thousands of trees ranging from 4 to 12-feet tall, this 100-acre tree farm is sure to be a sight. They also have pre-cut trees. All fresh trees are $30 (including tax and wrap) and live/balled trees are $50. Lewin Farms is open 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. daily until the weekend before Christmas.
