10 Places With Christmas Eve Or Day Masses

Among the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, shopping for gifts, baking cookies, attending parties, its sometimes forgotten that Christmas is a religious and spiritual holiday.Local churches are busy putting up wreaths and greens to celebrate, opening their doors to the public. If you are feeling moved, visit one of our 10 churches in or near Hauppauge holding Christmas Eve or Christmas Day masses.

1.  on Townline Road will hold a family service at 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve, followed by an 11 p.m. Candlelight service that traditionally focuses on reading of the lessons and carols.

2. Visit  who is hosting a variety of services and time sure to fit your schedule. Christmas Eve Masses will be held at 3:30 p.m., 5:30 p.m. , 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. The parish will also host Christmas Day Masses at 9 a.m. , 10:45 a.m. and 12:15 p.m.  There will be no evening masses on Dec. 25 this year.

3. Celebrate Christmas Eve at the nearby in Smithtown. Services are scheduled for 5 p.m. and 10 p.m.  A single Christmas Day service is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Dec. 25.

4.  will be holding two worship services for Christmas: a Christmas Eve service at 7 p.m. on Dec. 24, followed by a Candlelight service at 11 p.m.

5. Head to  in Smithtown for a variety of services, both family and liturgical in religious celebration of the holiday. Christmas  Eve Masses are scheduled for Dec. 24: 8 a.m., 3:30 p.m. both family and liturgy, 5 p.m. family and liturgy, 8 pm. and midnight, that includes a choir performance starting at 11:20 p.m. Christmas Day masses will be held at 7:30 am., 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m., noon and 1:15 p.m.

7. In Smithtown,  will host family services at 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 24, followed by Christmas carols at 8 p.m. and a Christmas Mass at 10 p.m. On Christmas Day, "The Nativity Of Our Lord" service will be held at 10 am.

8. Join in Commack for Christmas Eve services at 4 p.m., 6 p.m. 11 p.m. and a midnight Mass. On Christmas Day, services will be held at 8 a.m , 10 a.m., and noon with a 12:30 p.m. family service.

10. St. Paraskevi Greek Orthodox Church in Greenlawn offers both Christmas Eve and Christmas services, as well as traditional Sunday services on Dec. 26.
