As we approach Thanksgiving, there are community events springing up across Hauppauge that both aim to residents together for causes and to improve the town.
Here are our picks for 5 community events that shouldn't be missed:
* Hauppauge parents can learn how to " at on Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. This program is offered free through the school district's Community and Youth Alliance.
*The will offer its patrons its chance to take a virtual trip to led by Jim Ward on Tuesday at 7 p.m. It's a great chance to learn about many places that make of this historic town.
*Hauppauge teens and residents will hold a candlelight vigil to remember Courtney Sipes on Nov. 22 at 7 p.m. on the corner of Smithtown Main Street and Lawrence Avenue. Sipes in a tragic accident while attempting to cross Smithtown Main Street in November 2009.
*Faithful residents will gather to reflect on what they are thankful for at the Thanksgiving Interfaith ceremony at in Hauppauge on Nov. 23 at 7 p.m.
*Hauppauge's first will be held on Thankgiving Day to benefit Angela's House, a nonprofit aiding sick children and their families, at Hauppauge High School from 8:30 a.m. to noon.
