5 Events Happening This Week

Try out a few new boardgames with friends or learn how to eat a healthier diet.

As you prepare for the week ahead, take a few moments to check out these five events happening in Hauppauge: 

Hauppauge teens have the chance to voice their opinions and give input on the direction of the at the Teen Advisory Board at 7 p.m. Monday. Teens are eligible to receive a one-hour community service credit for attending. 

The Town of Smithtown's Zoning Board of Appeals will holds its first meeting of April at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Eugene A. Cannataro Senior Citizens Center. Attend to bring up any issues you have with buildings and houses in the local area.

Try a few new games this spring break, and meet new friends during an Afternoon of Games starting 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Hauppauge Public Library for students in kindergarten through fifth grade. The library is also seeking teen volunteers to help oversee the games. 

Want to learn how to eat healhier? Join author and holistic nutritionist Christie Korth at Whole Foods in Lake Grove to take a Health Eating Tour on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

Hunger Games fans can participate in Tribute Training at the Hauppauge Public Library on Friday from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Students in sixth through 12th-grade can watch a survivalist fashion show, test their trivia knowledge and play games centered around the book series. Register in advance.
