5 Events Happening This Weekend

Children can celebrate the start of summer reading club, or pick up fresh food from Kings Park Farmers Market.

 


Encourage your child to read this summer by attending 's third annual Summer Reading Club Kick-Off Carnival on Saturday, from 10 a.m - 3 p.m.  

Enjoy live music on the streets as Musical Moments in Kings Parks kicks off 7:30 p.m. at Russ Savatt Park, weather permitting. Performing will be The Acoustic 6, who play soft acoustic rock from The Beatles to Carrie Underwood. Bring a seat.

The Smithtown Performing Arts Center presents their performance of the comedy Avenue Q, about a recent college graduate named Princeton who is trying to find his way in New York. Performances are 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Tickets are $45.


Join nature lovers for a morning of Bagels and Bird Banding at the Sweetbriar Nature Center in Smithtown, from 6 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. Adults and children age 12 and over can learn from scientists how they band and study songbirds. Cost $5 member, $6 non-members.
