5 Events Happening This Week

Both Town of Smithtown and Hauppauge Public Schools will be holding meetings this week.

Update: Hauppauge Public Schools has announced the district's next Board of Education meeting is March 13. The March 8 meeting scheduled at the beginning of the school year has been cancelled. 

Here are our pick of events happening this week: 

1. Calling all cooks and chefs to the for their Winter Recipe Exchange from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday. Bring a copy of your favorite recipe and the library staff will be happy to make copies.

2. Smithtown officials will host a Town Board Meeting at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Town Hall on West Main Street. Topics of discussion include the town's Energy Star program and traffic signals. 

3. Meet with other local artists to share projects and your techniques at the Art Group hosted by the on Tuesday at noon.

4. Learn about new business propositions within the Town of Smithtown at their Planning Board meeting at the Eugene Cannataro Senior Citizen Center at 7 p.m. Wednesday. 

5. Hauppauge Public Schools will hold a Board of Education meeting on Thursday at 8 p.m. in the former . The meeting will focus on the board's regular business, as the next budget meeting is not until March 13.
