5 Events Happening this Week in Hauppauge

Celebrate the start of Hanukah with a menorah lighting or get in the spirit with a public holiday concert this Friday.

We're almost to the holidays, and this week you can celebrate the start of the holiday seasons with cookie exchanges, book readings and festive holiday concerts. Here's our list of five vents you don't want to miss:

1. Learn how to create a to hang in your home or give to a friend this holiday season at the Nesconset branch of the Smithtown Public Library on Monday from 7:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The library will provide all supplies.

2. Get in the holiday spirit by baking a few dozen of your favorite cookies to share at the at the at 7 p.m. on Monday. Sign up to let others know how many cookies to make, and try a few new cookies.

3. Mark the beginning of Hanukkah at the Nesconset Chamber of Commerce's at the Nesconset Plaza, next door to the Nesconset Public Library, on Smithtown Boulevard on Tuesday at 5 p.m.

4. Gather your children, ages 3 to 5, at the Nesconset branch of the Smithtown Special Library District for it's on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Children will hear stories about snowmen and do a craft to take home.

5. Hear 's perform holiday songs at the New York State Building off Veterans Highway on Friday at 11 a.m. Trust us, their voices can bring a song to life.
