5 Events Happening This Weekend

Hauppauge Public Library hosts family movie on Friday, with Smithtown Festival Day set for Sunday.

Looking for somethign to do this weekend? Here are our suggesstions for five local events to hit up: 


Join the friends and family of Kerry Rose Fitzsimons, late Commack graduate who died in off-campus housing near Marist College, Friday from 4 p.m. - 11 p.m. for food, drinks and dancing at the IBEW Local 25 Hall off Motor Parkway in Hauppauge. Suggested donation of $40 per person will go towards a fire sprinkler awareness campaign.


Gather up the family and head to for a free movie the entire family can enjoy. The library will feature "The Muppets" featuring Jason at 7 p.m. Friday. Register via the library's website in advance, and feel free to bring your own snacks.

The Sweet Briar Nature Center invites resident to join them for their 32nd annual Nature and Craft Fair on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m Visitors can walk through Sweet Briar's butterfly house, enjoy live animal demonstrations featuring an Artic Wolf or browse local craft vendors and plant sales. Admission is $10 per family. 


Celebrate everything that makes up Smithtown on Sunday from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m on Main Street. There will be vendors, food, and live entertainment with a little something for everybody. Free.

Soluna Studios in Hauppauge presents "One Chance, One Dream" an original musical comedy by John Passadino of an actress after giving up her dream has once chance to win it all back. Performances are Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15.
