5 Halloween Events Happening This Weekend

Get ready to put on your costume and celebrate Halloween this weekend in Hauppauge.

Halloween weekend is here. There are parties happening through Hauppauge this weekend for everyone, from children to adults. So grab your costume and get ready to put it on, as Patch as a few suggestions to get your weekend going.

* Children in kindergarten through fifth-grade can celebrate Halloween Happenings at the Friday from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Get in the Halloween spirit with games, arts and crafts, spooky stories, face painting and of course, pumpkin decorating. Registration is required in advance, but there's still a few seats remaining.

*Families can take a scary walk through the woods at nearby Sweet Briar Nature Center's Spooktacular featuring ghost stories, crafts and ghost stories on Friday and Saturday from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Pre-registration is required.

*will host its annual for young children to play games and trick-or-treat in a safe environment at 2 p.m. Saturday in the high school commons.

*College students should break out their best costumes for at Silk Lounge in Hauppauge. Doors open at 9 a.m. and more than $3,000 in cash and prizes will be given out for the best costumes in different categories.

*Adults can mingle at 's with supermodel and DJ Megan Daniels. Dress to impress and put on your dancing shoes as the party goes from 9:30 p.m. to 4 a.m.
