5 Things to Do This Weekend

Play a few rounds of Texas Hold`em or explore the great outdoors this weekend.

 

There's plenty of things to do in Hauppauge, especially on this President's Day weekend. Here's our pick of five local events happening in or near Hauppauge: 

1. Head to the nearby Take-One Theatre Arts to watch a local production of Toy Camp for young children this Saturday at 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.

2. Test your skill and luck at the Hauppauge Public Library's winter Texas Hold`Em tournament on Saturday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Register in advance to guarantee a seat at the tables.

3. Hear one comedian's view of the place we all call home as Steve Gianturco performs "Welcome to Lawn Guyland" on Saturday, 8 p.m. at J Nevel Furniture in the Hauppauge Industrial Park. It's part theatre, part comedy. Tickets are $20. 

4. Unravel the mystery of Who Done It? at the Sweetbriar Nature Center this Sunday at 1 p.m. Children and their families are invited to solve the clues, and dress warm, as it may involve following animal tracks.

5. Help create blankets for children in need with Binky Patrol: Blankets for Those in Need at the Nesconset branch of the Smithtown library district on Sunday at 2 p.m.
