5 Weekend Events Happening in Hauppauge

Kicks off the holiday season as Santa Claus arrives in town in time for breakfast this Sunday.

Among the long lines and shopping frenzy, take a moment to get in the holiday spirit this weekend with these five events happening in Hauppauge. Santa Claus arrives on a fire truck for a visit then sits down to breakfast. Also, charitable events kick into overdrive.

Here's our top five events this weekend:

* Give to charity at for their starting at 10 a.m. There will be music from local radio stations, raffles and the chance to a brand new Martin guitar and case if you the largest non-perishable food donation.

* The Friends of the Arts will be hosting their fundraiser on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m at the . Pick up homemade goods or a book to gift at friend at a bargain.

* Be a part of the first at the 9/11 Responders Remembered memorial at Smithtown Boulevard and Gibbs Pond Road in Nesconset on Saturday at 5 p.m. There will be live music, hot chocolate and candy canes for everyone.

* Santa Claus is coming to town on the Smithtown Fire Department's 28th annual on Saturday. The parade will stop at the Meat Farms shopping center at approximately 6:30 p.m. Non-perishable food items are being collected.
