5 Weekend Events Happening in Hauppauge

Santa visits the Hauppauge Fire Department while Whole Foods helps you set obtainable goals for the new year.

This weekend, Santa Claus makes the rounds with the Hauppauge Fire Department while children have an opportunity to audition to participate in local plays. It's a great weekend to get out and enjoy the holiday season.

Here's 5 events happening in the Hauppauge area this weekend:

1. Gather around the fireplace at in nearby Smithtown for on Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. Children can hear stories about nature and the seasons before participating in seasonal crafts.

2. If your children love to be in the spotlight, let them for upcoming productions of "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown" and "Oliver" at on Saturday and Sunday. Scripts will be provided.

3. Get ready because Santa Claus is coming to town for the 28th annual on Saturday. Santa will be at the Ledgewood substation from 3 p.m. until 4:15 p.m. before he joins the firefighters in a parade around the neighborhood.

4. If you miss Santa Claus's parade on Saturday, join the Hauppauge Fire Department at their main firehouse on Route 111 for on Sunday starting at 8:30 a.m. The cost is $6.

5. Learn the tools to start the new year off right with Near Year, New You at Whole Foods in Lake Grove on Sunday starting at 10 a.m. This event is free, but all those interested need to register via email to ne.lakegroversvp@wholefoods.com.
