#92 - Get Fit With Pole Conditioning

Want to get in shape this spring but already starting to hate the treadmill? If exercise rooms aren't your style, a Hauppauge dance center is putting a new spin on fitness. 

is offering a new Pole Conditioning class for its clients that combines traditional muscle strengthening exercises with basic pole dancing moves. The class is designed to help individuals increase their strength and flexbility in a new way. 

"It's very non-exotic and open to all levels," said Lauren Levine, studio owner and instructor. "You always have one foot on the ground, so its very good for beginners."

Levine, who has a gymnastics and dancing background, says participants in the class range can range in age from  teens to individuals older than 60. It's designed for couples, men and woman, she said. The can provide a real confidence boost for many individuals.  

"Feeling good about yourself is about doing something that you didn't think you could do," she said.

LI Dance Fitness also offers vertical yoga and zumba classes for those seeking a new fitness routine that features popular exercise programs.
