Aug. 5: Pedestrian Killed Crossing Vets, Toby Walker in Concert

This Friday, Hauppauge families have their choice of entertainment to kick off the weekend. Choose between attending a free concert or a screening of "The Wizard of Oz."

Here's our top five: 

1.  Gather up children, ages 3 to 5, for at the Nesconset branch of the Smithtown Special Library District starting at 11 a.m. Librarians will read a story outside underneath the gazebo, weather permitting.

2. Travel to the land of Oz during  at  8:30 p.m. at Hoyt Farm. This free program is sponsored by the Town of Smithtown. 

3. The welcomes the return of Toby Walker, blues guitarist, to the  at 7:30 p.m. Bring a chair of blanket and arrive early for the best seats.

4.  Catch up on breaking news: A after being hit by a motorist while attempting to cross Veterans Highway on Thursday night. Check Patch for updates as more information becomes available.
