Boy Scouts' Order of the Arrow Ceremony Postponed

The honor ceremony has been rescheduled for 6 p.m. May 10 at Hoyt Farm in Commack.

Boy Scouts and their family members looking to celebrate this Saturday will have to wait a few more weeks to honor those in their ranks. 

The Matinecock District of the Boy Scouts has postponed its Order of the Arrow Call Out Ceremony at Hoyt Farm in Commack. The honorary ceremony originally scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday has been rescheduled for May 10 at 6 p.m. 

Phyllis Stein, a spokeswoman for the Boy Scouts, said the ceremony was postponed due to preliminary weather reports and safety issues for the entire weekend.

The Order of the Arrow Call Out Ceremony usually involves a large bonfire at Hoyt Farm in which local Boy Scouts are recognized for their work and actions over the past years.
