Cool Fun Rains Down At Nesconset Sprinkler Park

If your kids are too cool for the pool a nearby sprinkler park may be just the cure for this week’s relentless wave of heat pressing down on the area.

We caught up with kids cooling off at the Nesconset sprinkler park, located behind the Nesconset branch of the Smithtown Library. Parents can catch some shade under a nearby pavilion as they keep an eye on the kids.

Veteran’s Park in St. James also offers a cool refuge from the sun with a sprinkler park of their own. Dana Valentino of St. James was there with her twin boys Dominick and Anthony. It was her first visit to the park this year, but said she used it often last year.

“I try to get together with other moms at least once a week,” she said. “It’s one of the few places you can take the kids that is free.”

Both parks are free and open to Smithtown residents.
