Dec. 21: Basketball, Holiday Concerts And The First Day Of Winter

Tuesday is the winter solstice, which coincides with a total lunar eclipse.

Tuesday marks the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year. Hauppauge's sports have headed indoors as both the boys and girls varsity basketball teams take to the court in league season openers.

3. Hear 's performing groups at their at 7:30 p.m. All concerts are being held at either Commack High School or Commack Middle School due to ongoing construction of the high school's auditorium. Contact the district for specific dates.

4. If you are looking for some quiet down time away from the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, head to the Nesconset Branch of Smithtown Public Library for a at 1 p.m.
