Feb. 24: Economics, Wildlife and S'mores

Thursday is a busy day in Hauppauge from business meetings to children's activities.

Thursday is jammed back as businesses try to wrap up business before the weekend, and children try to get the most out of the mid-winter recess. With so many events happening, here are five Patch feels you should know about. 

1. Hauppauge Industrial Association of Long Island  will be hosting its annual at the Melville Marriott from 8 a.m. - 10 a.m. Patch will be there covering what business leaders and elected officials have to say about 2011. 

2. Explore the outdoors as winter turns into spring with at the nearby Nissequogue River State Park from 1:30 p.m. - 3 p.m. Children with their parents will look for signs and clues left behind by local animals.

3. Let your children indulge in a winter treat. Beat the cold with  for students in kindergarten to fifth grade at the starting at 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m.  

4. Hauppauge Patch will post about the 50th anniversary reunion for Honey Hollow Elementary School this morning at 8:30 a.m. Check Patch for details on how to get involved.
