Gas Guide: Falling Prices a Mixed Blessing and Curse

After gasoline prices spiked across Hauppauge and the surrounding areas throughout July, prices are starting to drop for a gallon of 87-octane. Wave gas station at the Townline Road and Route 111 intersection, along with Shell and Sunoco on Motor Parkway have the lowest local prices for a gallon of 87-octane fuel.
CNNMoney reports that motorists can expect to continue watching prices fall, but warns its a mixed blessing and a curse. The lower prices at the pump may reflect a weaker economy rather. However, the savings can also translate into extra spending money - somethign that can stimulate the economy.
