Holiday Donation Sites in Hauppauge

This holiday season, donate food, clothes and toys.

The holiday season is a good time to donate to the less fortunate. Long Island Cares, Inc. (The Harry Chapin Food Bank), located on Davids Drive in Hauppauge, takes food donations year-round and right now, they have donation boxes set up in numerous places including the Suffolk County Legislature Building next to the Fourth Precinct on the corner of Route 347 and Old Willet's Path and in Hauppauge's public library at the intersection of Route 111 and Veteran's Memorial Highway.

Panera Bread, in the shopping center where Route 111 crosses Route 347, is accepting turkey donations this year.  At the shopping center where Route 347 meets Mt. Pleasant Rd., Smithtown High School West's National Honor Society is having a food drive this weekend only in front of the Meat Farms supermarket.  Also at the far end of that parking lot, is a bin for donating clothes, toys and shoes.  Large bins like this are scattered throughout Hauppauge's parking lots, including another behind the Paradise Diner where Route 454 forks into Veteran's Memorial Highway and Route 347.
