Jan. 17: Martin Luther King Jr., Ice Skating and Hockey

Schools and businesses are closed on Monday to honor civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr.

Monday marks the celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, in honor of the civil rights leader best known for his "I Have A Dream" speech. He dreamed that all children might be able to play together one day. Patch wants to know: What's your vision of a better future?

1.   , Town of Islip and Town of Smithtown are closed in recognition of the national holiday. 

2. Head to for a special  from noon - 5:45 p.m. Grab skates, hit the ice for a day to remember with friends and family while schools are closed.

3. Once you're done skating, cheer on  as they take on West Islip at The Rinx at 9 p.m.
