Thursday brings an interactive question-and-answer forum on one of the largest issues to Hauppauge.
Thursday brings a diversity of events, most importantly is an interactive question-and-answer forum on one of the largest issues facing Long Island: heroin drug use and growth.
1. Parents can educate themselves on "" at 7 p.m. at . This forum is being offered to parents and community members after the presentation was given to students in grades 6-12 Wednesday.
2. is hosting Suffolk County's annual " starting at 6:30 p.m. High School students will compete in a trivia contest to see how many details they can remember from select books.

3. The Town of Islip will be holding aat 7:30 p.m.
4. Hauppauge superintendent presented her recommended $97 million 2011-2012 school year budget to the Board of Education Tuesday night. Factoring into that budget are Gov. Andrew Cuomo's recommendations including capping a superintendent's salary to $175,000. Check Patch this afternoon for how this could affect Hauppauge.
