May 10: School Budget Hearing at Board of Education Meeting

Hauppauge school district holds its official budget hearing for residents to ask questions before the May 17 vote.

This Tuesday, local residents have one last opportunity to ask questions on Hauppauge school district's 2011-2012 budget before the May 17 vote at the district's public budget hearing.

1. The Town of Islip will be holding a Town Board Meeting at 2 p.m. in Islip Town Hall. Topics up for discussion include the adoption of a second annual Action Plan for 2011-2014 consolidated strategy and plan submission for housing and community programs, changes at MacArthur Airport, and several community events.

3. The Hauppauge school district's Board of Education will hold the public hearing on the 2011-2012 budget and regular meeting starting at 8 p.m. at the former Whiporwhil Elementary School. This is taxpayers' last opportunity to question school officials before the May 17 vote.
