Moloney Funeral Home Raises $5K For Breast Cancer Research at Mather

Money raised in October was matched by company owners, Peter and Dan Moloney.

In October, the staff at Moloney Family Funeral Homes offered pink bracelets in exchange for donations to breast cancer research, raising over $2,500. The money was matched by Peter and Dan Moloney, owners of the company.

On Wednesday, the Moloney brothers and staff members of the funeral homes presented a check for $5,348 to John T. Mather Memorial Hospital in Port Jefferson to go to its Fortunato Breast Health Center.

“We realized from the start that it was extremely important to us all that the funds raised would stay local and benefit those here in the community” said Peter Moloney in a statement released by the funeral home, which has a location in Hauppauge.

In a statement the Moloney brothers said that “breast cancer affects everyone in our community, directly or indirectly.”

“We are very grateful and appreciative to our staff as well as those in our community who contributed to this important cause, and helped us in raising the awareness of this terrible disease,” said Dan Moloney.
