Nesconset 5K Walk/Run Rescheduled for Nov. 11

Nesconset Chamber of Commerce reschedules community charity event set for this Saturday to Nov. 11.

 

Nesconset residents have another month to train and raise funds for the community's fund raising 5K walk/run. 

Nesconset Chamber of Commerce has rescheduled its annual 5K Walk/Run originally set for this Saturday, Oct. 14 to Nov. 11 due to a unforeseeable scheduling conflict, according to organizers.

Registration for the event has been extended for runners and walkers through Nov. 1. Those interested in participating can register in advance through the chamber's website or by visiting active.com. The entree fee is $25 through Nov. 1,  $30 on the day of the run. 

For those unable to make the rescheduled date, they can contact Terry Kusterbeck at the chamber's offices by calling 631-724-2543.

The annual Nesconset 5K Walk/Run is sponsored by the Nesconset Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with Continental Home Loans. It is a fund raising event that raising money for events hosted by the Nesconset Chamber of Commerce in addition to helping local families in need. 

Norma Dispenza said members of the Nesconset chamber will be using funds raised this year to help needy families in the local community make it through the winter that much easier. One example might be helping an elderly resident or resident out of work pay for heating fuel during the cold months ahead.
