From Three Village: Car Crashes Into Stony Brook Medical Park Building

A driver at the Stony Brook Medical Park on Nesconset Highway is OK after crashing into building seven at the medical park late Wednesday morning. According to Brian McAllister, assistant chief of the Stony Brook Fire Department, the crash was caused by an "accidental foot slip" with the car in the wrong gear. It’s the second time in the span of a month that a car has hit a building in this medical park.

Police: Motorcyclist Seriously Injured by Drug-Impaired Driver

A motorcyclist was seriously injured on the eastbound side of the Long Island Expressway in Commack Monday when she was rear-ended by a drug-impaired driver, Suffolk County police said.

According to police, the crash occurred at 12:10 a.m. when D.A. Magalhaes-Lemos, 22, of Farmingville, who was driving a 2002 Mitsubishi sports utlity vehicle, rear-ended motorcyclist Jinah Kim, 37, of Blue Point. Police said she was ejected from her bike and suffered critical injuries.

From Sachem: Demolition Day Set for Bavarian Inn

D-Day for the Bavarian Inn's demolition is set. 

Suffolk Legis. John Kennedy, R-Nesconset, announced that the Bavarian Inn's demolition is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 23. A small ceremony will be held to celebrate this step forward in eliminating the derelict Lake Ronkonkoma restaurant and catering facility.
