Patch Picks: 5 Local Places To Celebrate St. Patrick's Day

Put on a bit of green and celebrate St. Patrick's Day with beer and entertainment at these venues.

Want to celebrate St. Patrick's Day but not sure where to start? Hauppauge pubs and restaurants have planned a night of great food, entertainment and green beer to help you find your Irish roots. 

 Here' s our pick of the local St.Patrick's Day events to check out. 

* (Hauppauge) - The pub will be offering free cabbage and corn beef after 5 p.m. to celebrate the holiday. After everyone eats, around 7 p.m. Irish step dancers perform a traditional dance and may help you learn some moves. Green beers will be served up. Click here for their website.

 * (Smithtown) – Pub 347 is planning an all night party under their new ownership. There will be free food and have numerous drink specials including $4 pints of Guinness, $3 shots and $2 pints of green beer. Entertainment is in the process of being booked and will be announced at the party. Click here for their website. 

*(Hauppauge) -  Butterfield's will be having an Irish Buffet from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. offering traditional Irish fare of corn beef hash, cabbage and potatoes. There will be a  half-price drink special during Happy Hours from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. The music and entertainment begins at 8 p.m. featuring The Chicklets, New York's premiere tribute girl group, who are not to be missed, according to owner Mike Shalley. Click here for their website.

* (Hauppauge) -  This is the place to go if you are looking for entertainment as Tommy Paris at 4 p.m., then Chuck Evan's Band will hit the stage. While the band plays, enjoy a free buffet featuring everything from corn beef hash to shepherd's pie. Click here for their website. 

* (Smithtown) - Take a sneak peek inside this new micro pub opening up on Route 347 on St. Patrick's Day, as owner Tony Celentano will be offering a limited selection of can and bottled beers for revealers to sample. Check it's Facebook page for more details.
