Photo of the Day: Boy Scouts Receive Religious Emblems

Four members of Hauppauge Troup 343 receive their Catholic Scout Religious Emblems.

Four members of Hauppauge Boy Scout Troop 343 were among 165 Scouts to receive their Catholic Scout Religious Emblems during the 54th Scout Convocation.

First Class Scout Dennis Collins and Life Scouts Sal Sparacino, Ralph Plotke and Eamon Phelan received the emblem from Rev. Gerard Gentleman, diocesan scouting chaplain of the Diocese of Rockville Centre on Sept. 18.

To earn the emblem, the Boy Scouts undertook a year of preparations in understanding his Christian commitment, recognizing the scout's advancement in the spiritual content of scouting and help him fully live the Boy Scout Promise and Law.
