Suffolk Leg. John Kennedy Jr., R-Nesconset, took to the mic in effort to raise support for local Olympian Marian Michta, who is heading to Lond shortly to compete in the 2012 Olympics. Kennedy was soliciting donations to help Michta's parents have the necesary funds to travel to watch her compete.

There are two weeks remaining in the Nesconset Free Summer Concert Series. On July 24, Songs in the Attic will return for its second year to pay tribute to Long Island's very own piano man Billy Joel.
