It's said Long Islanders love singing along to Billy Joel classics, and that sentiment held true Tuesday night as Songs In the Attic took over the Nesconset gazebo.
Songs In The Attic, a Billy Joel tribute band, performed July 24 before a crowd of hundreds at the fifth annual Nesconset Summer Concert Series. The band returned for a second straight year, as lead singer David Clark made his debut performance at the gazebo last year.
Prior to the concert, Suffolk County Leg. John Kennedy Jr, R-Nesconset, present a Proclamation to Nesconset resident Maria Michta for her accomplishment of making the 2012 Olympic Team, as she's fly to London to compete in the 20-kilometer race walk.
Long Island Cares continued its partnership with the hosting Nesconset Chamber of Commerce, accepting monetary donations and collecting non-perishable food items for the hungry.
Full House, the ultimate cover band, will pay tribute to the classic rock of the 1960s, 70s and 80s to close out the concert series on July 31 at 7:30 p.m.
