Police Report: Three DUI Arrests Over Memorial Day Weekend

Suffolk County's Fourth Precinct reports the following arrests for driving while intoxicated in Hauppauge.

The following information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

Suffolk County Police Department's Fourth Precinct reported three arrests for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs over the long Memorial Day weekend.

Nick Fokias, 43, of Ridge, was arrested May 29 at 12:50 a.m. in Hauppauge on charges of driving while intoxicated. Police said Fokias was driving a 1995 Nissan eastbound on Route 347 when an officer noticed his headlights were not on. Police pulled Fokias over on Old Willets Path and, after questioning and field sobriety testing, arrested him.

Wendy Dolansky-Purcell, 42, of Hauppauge, was arrested May 27 at 7 p.m. in Smithtown on charges of driving while intoxicated. Police said Dolansky-Purcell was driving a 2009 Nissan Altima westbound on Route 347 when she attempted to make a left turn. As Dolansky-Purcell turned, she smashed into a 2005 GMC, according to police reports. Police said a man was driving the GMC, but his condition was unknown. Dolansky-Purcell was allegedly driving without a license and speeding while intoxicated. Police also charged her with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

Kevin Cannon, 21, of Amityville, was arrested in Hauppauge on May 24 at 10:45 p.m. on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs. Police said Cannon was observed swerving on the Long Island Expressway Service Road North and seemed to have a hard time maintaining his lane. Police pulled him and after questioning arrested Cannon.
