Police Report: Trespassing, Corporate Bribes from Feb. 15 - Feb. 21

Weekly police blotter of crime activity in Hauppauge from the Suffolk Police Public Information Office.

The following information is taken from the Suffolk County Police Department's Media Incident list for the Fourth Precinct. The following individuals are not convicted of a crime, but have been arrested on the charges. Defendants are considered innocent until convicted or proven guilty. These are the arrested and incidents from Feb. 15 – Feb. 21.

Arrests:

Joseph Schreck III, 21, of Holbrook, was arrested Feb. 18 at 10:15 p.m.. in Hauppauge for burglary and criminal trespassing. Police said between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. Schreck entered a building with the intent to commit a crime. Schreck entered the building without permission and tried to steal jewelry, money, and electronics, according to police.

William Madigan, 51, of Hauppauge, was arrested Feb. 17 in Hauppauge for petit larceny. Police said Madigan allegedly went into a Bethpage Federal Credit Union bank in Bayshore and stole money from the ATM. The incident was first reported to the police on Sept. 2, 2010. After an investigation, Madigan was arrested last week at 2 p.m.

Sherrill Pasquale, 47, of Hauppauge, was arrested Feb. 17 for petit larceny. Police said  Pasquale allegedly stole a garbage can lid from someone's yard on Feb. 15, placed it in her car and drove away. Pasquale was arrested around 8 a.m.

George Camilleri, of East Yaphank, was arrested in Hauppauge Feb.17 at 12:01 a.m. for false statement. Police said on June 16, 2008 Camilleri lied on an insurance application by claiming his wife was the president of an unidentified company. 

Thomas Cortese, 61, of Middle Island, was arrested in Hauppauge Feb. 16 for commercial bribe. Police said between 2005 and 2011 Cortese agreed to accept $50,000 from a corporation for overcharging his customers. He was arrested at 2:25 p.m.

Jessica Polacek, 23, from Hauppauge, was arrested in Hauppauge Feb. 8 at 2:08 a.m. for petit larceny. Polacek allegedly went into a store and stole two cameras, according to police reports.
