Results are In For Smithtown's 5K Running of the Bull
A complete listing of the finals results for local runners.
More than 300 runners took to Smithtown's streets for the sixth annual 5K Running of the Bull on Saturday morning. Among them were many runners from Smithtown, Hauppauge, Saint James, Nesconset and Head of the Harbor.
This year's first-place winner Commack resident Stephen Abruzzo, 41, with a time of 17 minutes and 4 seconds. Following close behind was Smithtown resident Michael Robles, 53, of Smithtown in 18:07.6.
Many residents came out though not only to race, but to support a local cause. The event benefited the Courtney Sipes Foundation, that provides opportunities in the arts and music to children, and Angela's House, which help children with chronic illnesses and their families receive necessary medical support.
