Nearly $3K Raised for Angela's House at Charity Soccer Game

The Smithtown East High School boys varsity soccer team played a charity soccer game last week forAngela's House, a Hauppauge-based nonprofit organization that assists families caring for children with special health care needs.

“Through the efforts of the students, teachers and volunteers, the team was able to raise $2,918 for Angela’s House and more importantly raise awareness within the community about our mission to helps children," Angela's House Executive Director Bob Policastro said. 

Pearle Vision to Open in Village Green Shopping Center

The Village Green shopping center will have a new tenant come next year. 

Pearle Vision is moving into the former location of Elegance Cleaners at 1253 Veterans Highway, according to First Development Corporation, which owns the shopping center. 

Hauppauge's HSBC Bank Robbed

The HSBC bank on Motor Parkway in Hauppauge was robbed Wednesday afternoon, according to Suffolk Police. 

Police say a man entered the bank, located at 660 Motor Parkway, approached a teller, and produced a note demanding cash around 2 p.m.

The teller complied with the demand and gave the man cash from the drawer, police said. The robber fled on foot eastbound on Motor Parkway. 

Hauppauge German Club Students March in New York City’s Steuben Parade

Hauppauge High School German Club students were selected to participate in the 56th Annual German-American Steuben Paradein New York City last month.

The German Club was selected for the honor based on its many accomplishments.
