Hauppauge Woman Crashes Car into Fairfield Apartments
A Hauppauge woman crashed her vehicle into an apartment building Friday morning at the intersection of Veteran's Memorial Highway and New Highway.

According to police, the 88-year-old woman was driving a 2007 Acura sports utility vehicle on Veteran's Memorial Highway when she made a left onto New Highway and hit a porch at the Fairfield apartment building.

Route 347 Construction Starts Second Phase in Hauppauge
Drivers should be prepared to hit their brakes along Route 347 as construction begins on Phase II of the Route 347 greenway project. 

The first phase of the Route 347 greenway project, from Veterans Highway/Route 454 to  Wheeler Road/Route 111, was completed last week, reports Newsday. The second phase will move construction east, from Wheeler Road/Route 111 to Mount Pleasant Road, beginning next week. 

Magical Garden Pre-School Locks Its Doors
There will be no more laughter coming from the playground of one Nesconset pre-school. 

Magical Garden Pre-School at 70 Smithtown Boulevard has locked its doors and shut down, as a real estate sign was quickly posted on the property. 

Hauppauge Students and Legis. Kennedy Honor Injured Soldier

Legis. John M. Kennedy, Jr., Minority Leader of the Suffolk County Legislature joined with Forest Brook Elementary School in Hauppauge, in honoring United States Marine Corps Corporal Greg Caron, in a ceremony held June 9. 

Summer Construction Brings Sidewalks to Townline Road
Hauppuage parents who feared their teens walking to school on busy roadways may be able to breath easier next school year. 

Construction crews are preparing to create a continuous sidewalk along the north side of Townline Road, spanning from Lincoln Boulevard  east to Hoffman Lane. Construction is scheduled to start by June 24, announced Legis. John Kennedy, R-Nesconset.
