Driver Gets Up to 12 Years For 7-Eleven Crash that Killed Infant Daughter
A Westbury man who drunkenly drove his car off Motor Parkway into the side of a 7-Eleven in July 2012, killing his 10-month-old daughter, will serve up to 12 years in prison. 

Jose Escobar, 30, pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child under Leandra's Law, aggravated vehicular homicide, manslaughter, endangering the welfare of a child, reckless driving and other crimes on July 19, 2012.

Nesconset Man Critical Following 3-Car Crash
A Nesconset man is in critical condition following a three-car crash on Saturday in Yaphank that took the life of a Medford woman

According to police, Kaitlyn Dougherty, 22, of Medford, died riding as a passenger in a 2008 Nissan driven by Christopher Torres, 23 of Nesconset. Police say Torres was driving westbound on Horseblock Road near Yaphank Avenue in Yaphank when he lost control of his vehicle around 7:28 p.m. 

Dead Crows Test Positive for West Nile Virus in Nesconset
Suffolk County Department of Health services confirmed dead birds picked up in Nesconset have tested positive for West Nile Virus. 

Two dead crows were collected from the Nesconset area on July 18. The exact location were the birds was not available. 

Lights Out At Exit 55 Liquors
It appears that Exit 55 Liquors, located at 695 Motor Pkwy., in Hauppauge is no longer in business.

The lights have been off and doors locked shut in recent weeks, and half empty shelves are seen through the window.

Sport Clips Now Open
Sport Clips, a new men's barber shop at 389 Nesconset Highway in hauppauge, is now open.

The shop, which opened last week, has a sports bar atmosphere with large-screen televisions that show everything from football to baseball to soccer and more, with trained stylists to complete a man's look.
