Whiz Kid: Creating Films That Capture Hauppauge

Leroy Farrell proves he's a whiz with a camera and the media arts.

Whiz Kid's Accomplishment: Leroy was selected by Long Island Arts Alliance and Newday as Suffolk County's January 2011 Scholar Artist for his work in the media arts. 

Whiz Kid’s Key to Awesomeness: Leroy knows his way around a camera and puts his media art skills to use capturing Hauppauge school district and community in film, particularly as a member of the Eagles Broadcasting team. His work has been show at the Long Island Media Arts Show, typically held each spring in April. 

In addition to his photogenic eye, Leroy is an AP honors student who serves as president of the Interact club and co-president of the National Honor Society. He also holds two records in diving as part of Eagles Boys Swimming and Diving team.
