Winter Scenes Around Hauppauge

Patch photographer takes a walk around the neighborhood to capture the scenes of the Jan. 12 snowfall.

Mother nature packed a wallop!

The National Weather Service predicted Hauppauge and surrounding areas of Long Island would receive anywhere from 10 - 14 inches Tuesday night, followed by another 3-5 inches on Wednesday morning.

Hauppauge school district cancelled classes Tuesday evening, which was followed by flurry of cancellations by local pre-schools, childcare services and Hauppauge Public Library.

As of 2 p.m. Wednesday, official measurements from Islip's MacArthur Airport measured in at 19 inches of heavy packing snow. The pictures below are the scene many Hauppauge residents awoke to.
