10 Places To Get Last-Minute Gifts

Are you a last minute Christmas shopper, who rushes out at the last minute to guy gifts for everyone on your list?  We can help save you a little time.  Here are 10 places in or near Hauppauge you can get great gifts on Christmas Eve.

1.  Walmart
The Islandia location of this supersized retailer will be open on Christmas Eve from 7 a.m. - 8 p.m. Walmart carries everything from clothing to homewares, toys to electronics so it can cater to a range of last minute gift shopping. Its located at 1850 Veterans Memorial Highway in Islandia.

2.  Barnes and Noble, 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
This Smith Haven Mall store is a great choice for the book, music or movie lover.  They have reading accessories such as book lights and lap desk, with hobby kits and games for children as well  If you aren't sure about the top book club picks or what kind of movie your 15 year old niece will like, there is always a gift card!

3.  Smith Haven Mall, 7 a.m - 6 p.m.
All stores within the mall have the same hours on Christmas Eve. Macy's, Sears, Bath and Body Works, Apple Store, Abercrombie, Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, Brookstone, Build-A-Bear, Charlotte Russe, E B Games, Foot Locker,  Coach have storefront here, to name just a few. There's sure to be something for everyone on your list if you can find a parking spot.

4.  , 9 a.m. - 6 p.m
This bookstores store is similar to Barnes and Noble, but a little further west at on Veterans Memorial Highway in Commack. It sells books, movies, Cds, as well as great leather bound journals and artist sketch books. Whether you read or do the writing, there's a gift set.

5.  , 7 a.m - 7 p.m.
This departement store carries a little bit of everything from clothing to home goods, electronics and more. They also have a supermarket if you need a quick ingredient in the midst of your holiday cooking. Keep an eye out for stocking stuffers here.

6. , 6 a.m. - 6 p.m.
You have a twelve-hour span to catch this store.  Kohl's has a variety of clothing and home goods throughout the store. It also carries a small selection of holiday cards, gift wrapping, fragrances to serve as last minute gifts. Through out the holidays, most days you can get 15  - 30 percent off your entire order by scratching a card at the register. 

7.  Best Buy, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Best Buy is the place to shop for that must-have electronic or computer gift that you suddenly realize you forgot. If you need a big gift for someone, and you don't speak the camera, computer or T.V. language, people will translate for you. Great for the big gift you need! Its located at 3124 Jericho Turnpike in Commack.

8.  , 6 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Do you need a gift for dad?  You can find power tools, lawn mowers or that barbeque set here. Do you have no idea what your dad or uncle or grandfather really needs?  How about a gift certificate to the man's playground!

9.  Michael's Craft Store, 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Find arts supplies and craft products for Mom who likes to decorate or Aunt Debbie who loves to paint.  If you are shopping on Christmas Eve, you may not have time to get creative, but the assortment of bags and baskets can be a quick fix to making sure a gift come together beautifully. Michael's is located at 3210 Middle Country Road in Lake Grove.

10.  CVS, 7 a.m. - 10 p.m.
This drug store wins the prize for being open latest on Christmas Eve out of those stores we contacted.  CVS sells gift cards to many places, including those mentioned above such as Borders. It also carries restaurant gift certificates, which is a great gift for a couple. There are beauty products, movies and gift sets that can serve as last minute gifts. The nearest CVS is 232 Smithtown Boulevard in Nesconset.
