A Taste of Taiwan on Rt. 111

The frozen yogurt craze is branching out - and this time, it's giving residents a treat from the East.

At The Lite Choice on Route 111, within the Uncle Guiseppe's shopping center, customers can have a taste of Taiwan with an array of exotic bubble teas and popping boba.

Bubble tea, which was created in Taiwan and has made its way over to the states, is a fruit or milk-based drink with tapioca pearls, known as boba. When sipping the drink, the bubble rise through the straw, adding a gummy treat to the drink.

The Lite Choice has about a dozen bubble tea flavors to choose from including passion fruit, taro, green tea, lychee, coconut, strawberry and others.

If in the mood for something on the wild side, try the popping boba, which is similar to the tapioca pearls, but features juice on the inside. When one bites the bubble, a burst of juice pops.

The store will soon be extending its hours for summer. The shop will close at 10 p.m. during the week and at 11 p.m. on weekends
