Bagel Cafe Closes Its Doors In Push For Change

A popular Hauppauge bagel cafe has locked its doors leaving customers wondering what other lunch options they have.

Just The Way You Like It Bagelery and Eatery may have closed their doors for good. If so, it marks the second store to leave the Wheeler Shopping Plaza this year, making way for the future. 

Just The Way You Like It, formerly Bagel Biz, has locked its doors. The popular eatery was known for serving approximately 30 flavors of bagels with homemade cream cheese spreads. Its deli counter offered commuter morning specials, salads, wraps, soups, deli sandwiches, hamburgers and more.  

The businesses also offered full-service catering under the name Creative Catering focusing on breakfast, luncheons, barbecues and heros. 

Property owner Mark Brecker said Just The Way You Like It is technically still located at the 950 Wheeler Road address, but it is his understanding they are no longer serving customers. 

The business' owner could not be reached for comment. 

The departure of Just The Way You Like It would leave a second empty storefront in the Wheeler Shopping Plazz. Top Shelf Wine And Liquors relocated last month. Top Shelf is hosting its grand opening alongside Branchinelli's, located off the intersection of Route 111 and Townline Road. 

"We are trying to clean out the area to the left of the post office for a rather large tenant. I'm not allowed to say who yet because they haven’t signed consent," Brecker said. 

He would not share any further details or a timeline for this potential change.
