Blacksmith Tavern Closes Its Doors

Former Smithtown eatery is listed for rent.

Another Smithtown eatery has locked its doors, quietly closing down its business and leaving town.

Blacksmith Tavern, an American restaurant and pub off Terry Road, has closed down. The doors of the restaurant were locked on Thursday evening, a time when the drinks would start flowing.

The phone line to the Smithtown eatery has been disconnected. There is no message for loyal patrons on the Blacksmith Tavern's website, which now indicates it's "under construction."

A red-and-white sign has been hung near the main entrance that reads: "For Inquiries About the Restaurant, Please Call 646-221-1331." Calls placed to the number reveal the storefront has been placed up for rent.

Tell us, are you sad to see the Blacksmith Tavern close?  What type of business would you like to see take over the storefront?
