Boulevards Bar and Grill is expected to open at the corner of Francis Street and Smithtown Boulevard in Nesconset this September.
Owner Joe Letizia said that he came up with the idea for the bar and grill from his own experiences of looking for a place to go with his friends after a round of hockey at Hauppauge's The Rinx.
"I play a lot of hockey and a lot of the time we look to go out for a beer afterward and there's nothing around there," he said.
Letizia said the restaurant will be a sports bar with large-screen televisions.
The venue already has already filed for a liquor license and now has approval for its kitchen, as well.
Letizia, which also owns the construction company next door, said that he hopes to open the sports bar in early Septemeber.
