Smithtown Fish Market Gutted

Add the Smithtown Fish Market to the list of ones that got away in town. After eight years in the Uncle Giuseppe's shopping center on Route 111, the market has closed.

Sweetleaf Boutique to Close

After more than six years in business, Sweetleaf Boutique in East Setauket is closing its doors. In a letter to friends and customers, the store’s management said they are closing in order to focus on taking care of co-owner Kelli D’andrea’s six-month-old daughter Sienna, who has already had one heart surgery and will need continued critical care. The store will close sometime in June and must sell through its inventory before then. The store is holding a sale of 40 percent off all clothing and 20 percent off all accessories in the meantime.

Trendy Shoe Shop Opens in Smith Haven Mall

Call it Spring, a trendy footwear and accessory store for men and women, recently opened its doors at the Smith Haven Mall. The store, which caters to teens and young adults also has an online shop, complete with blog posts on fashion trends and clothing tips.

Owner Replacing Lost Spots as Construction Cuts Parking from Pathmark

A swath of land cleared along Route 347 will go towards replace parking in the Pathmark shopping center in Port Jefferson Station that the state took away to install jug handles at Route 112, according to officials and the property owner. Plans filed with Brookhaven Town also call for additional square footage to be added to the strip mall in what is being called "phase two" of the shopping center project.
